Day Six (Part Three): All the Rest

Our finishing point was the town of Sort and we pulled up just across the road from the rafting headquarters, which also boasted a hotel but more importantly, change rooms and, even more importantly to the kids, a swimming pool!  Once out of our wet suits, we spent the next hour finishing our lunch, playing in the pool or simply relaxing in the sunshine.  The kids had a ball pushing Stewart in the pool while Abbey showed off her aerial acrobatics.

Incidentally, the word sort is Catalan for "luck".  The Sort-based lottery shop La Bruixa d'Or ("The Gold Witch") has taken advantage of the town's name to promote itself both within Spain (attracting business from around the country) and over the Internet. They claim to have a disproportionate number of lottery winners.  This has apparently become a self-fulfilling prophecy with more and more tickets being sold there and thus, more and more winners.

(I must apologise for the lack of ‘Zac’ photos in this blog as he was just too hard to pin down he was having so much fun!)

Learning a thing or two from Dad

 Our lady of leisure
Abbey, deciding she looked very ‘European’ (that would be topless!)
All too soon it was time to hit the road, but at least this time it would be tarmac all the way!  We stopped briefly so the kids could refuel with ice cream then it was all systems go (except for one look out where Stewart kindly pulled over for me!) back to Andorra crossing the border at La Farga de Moles.
Hanging out the window like a small dog kept carsickness at bay with the road flat, but still winding!

Abbey decides she may do a better job than Simon!

Managed another good border sign whilst we passed border control

We were not back at the hotel until 1800 but still managed to squeeze in a relaxing drink before a dinner of Catalan style pork (a bit of a sweet and sour affair).  Whilst at dinner we noted some new additions to the hotel, a group of Australian Seniors (obviously on a SKIing holiday!)  Honestly, you just can’t get away from them – and I do not believe our accents sound as Okka as theirs!!
