Longleat Take Three 30th

I would like to state at the outset of this blog that it will be rather light on text.  I figure as this is the third time we have visited Longleat that, if you don’t know all about its history and attractions, you obviously did not pay attention to the last two blogs!

Today, Zac, Abbey and I took Grannie and Grandad on a day trip to Longleat with fingers crossed the weather would not prove too dodgy.  First stop, naturally, was the safari park.  The animals were as photogenic as always but we did skip the monkey enclosure given we were in Grandad’s hire car!

Having survived our safari, we stopped closer to the manor home for a quick picnic lunch before it was all aboard for the sea leg of our adventure.  Today we were lucky to get a better look at the two resident hippos and, more excitingly, the old man himself had come out of his house – no not Grandad!

Looking very old and grumpy (again not Grandad!)

And now for a spot of civilization with a tour of the main house which never fails to impress.

On exiting the house (and avoiding the lions!) we stopped for icecream, tried our hand in the mirror maze then took a stroll through the zoo stopping to feed the birds.

We just had time to squeeze in a play at the adventure playground whilst Grannie and Grandad took in some of the other attractions then it was time for some very weary explorers to call it a day.
