The Royal Visit 24th - 27th

This week we were in for a very special treat with our old neighbours and close friends the Roberts coming to stay for a few days during their sojourn from Saudi Arabia.  Unfortunately all the family were not able to visit with Rich having to work so we eagerly awaited the arrival of Vania, Isy and Maddy.  For the purposes of accommodating all our guests, it worked out well that for two of the three nights of their stay Grannie and Grandad would be away exploring London but would be able to catch up with our new guests for the last night of their stay when I would literally have a house full.

Vania and the girls arrived late Tuesday afternoon and Zac and Abbey wasted no time showing them around our new house and taking them on a tour of the neighbourhood.  By some freak of nature we were actually experiencing summer weather so it was the perfect opportunity to run off all that extra energy before settling down for the evening.

With the summer weather continuing on the Wednesday we headed into Bath and spent the morning playing at Victoria Park.  We lunched in town and made our way home via Waitrose (for old times sakes – oh, and to pick up picnic supplies for the next day!).

Lo and behold, the beautiful weather continued on Thursday, which was just as well as we had arranged to meet up with Charlotte and her brood for a day at Bowood.  It was really lovely to see all the kids together once more and they literally ran themselves ragged for the entire day on the adventure playground.

 and the gang’s all here!

Sadly, Vania and the girls had to continue on their own holiday adventures and it was difficult to hold back the tears once again when saying farewell.  I believe the next time we see them will be on their adventure down under in, hopefully, the not so distant future!
