Tuesday evening saw us up at
the school all ready to be entertained by Reception to Year Four’s production
of “The Magic Jigsaw”. Weeks
before I had industriously created for Abbey the perfect Angel’s dress for her
role as Angel # 1, even ensuring
that Alice, Angel #2, was dressed
exactly the same (not good to have competing Angels!) Sewing late into the night, I think you will agree that the
results were stunning! (And believe any
of that and it would be a Christmas miracle! I did have to drive all the way to Sainsbury’s to purchase
them!!)
Has

getting ready, the parents were left vying for front row seats in the hall (we
won!) and cooling our heels before curtain call.

The evening was a roaring
success with the kids acting and singing with gusto. The teachers had done a fabulous job adapting the original
script so that each class had a role in the ‘Jigsaw’ production. Abbey’s class acted out the scene with
the Angels informing the shepherds of the birth of little baby Jesus. The class was easily split into Angels
and Shepherds along gender lines so everyone was happy! After proclaiming the good news, Abbey
and Alice proceeded to fly (skip) around the shepherds with much grace, Abbey
even delicately holding up the hem of her skirt whilst flapping one
handed. She looked simply gorgeous
and thank goodness didn’t trip in her fancy Moroccan heels!!

There were plenty of very
tired barnyard animals, angels, shepherds and stars by the end of the evening
but they all managed to front up the very next afternoon to perform it all over
again.
I almost fell off the chair when you said you were sewing. Two very beautiful angels!!
