Day Seven: 4th

A day of rest (and laundry).

After completing the necessary evils for the day we spent the rest of the morning poolside (though we decided to sit out the aqua aerobics class.) Abbey became determined today to swim a width of the pool unaided and once she set her mind to it was an absolute star. She also perfected doing a cartwheel into the pool, which was quite entertaining. Zac once again was a fish outlasting us all in the pool.

The pool closed from 1pm to 3pm for siesta so we left to have our now usual European lunch of baguettes, salami and cheese then all lazed around for a while. The campervan came with a small television so we relented and let Abbey watch her Three Musketeers movie (Barbie style of course). Zac found a quite corner and played his IPOD whilst Nathan and I finally got to put our feet up and read. Absolute bliss!

By 2pm we were all rested and the kids and Nathan were keen to head down to the lake for a swim. I am not a huge fan of walking in on slimy rocks so opted out and curled up with my book on the shore. Even our old reliable water proof camera protested the surrounds and is now of questionable use (not good considering I dropped our other one yesterday and there is now an annoying shadow on one section of the zoom!) After satisfying their need for a lake swim, the kids were keen for ice cream so we stopped at the camp café. Time for a cooling drink with views of the lake beyond.

Yes, that’s me opting out on this adventure

3pm saw us back in the pool (yes, that’s more like it for me!) and we spent another lazy few hours there. I played good Samaritan helping a concerned Dutch dad find his teenaged son after he had failed to return to their campsite after a bit of an argument. Actually Zac spotted a sorry looking boy in the corner of the near by soccer field and I had to go over and have a chat. They were all very appreciative when they saw us the next day and also amazed that they had actually met an Australian family in this part of the world.

The final photos from our old faithful!

After so much lazing around the boys let off some steam over a game of soccer. It was then a late dinner of tortellini and salad followed by some quiet time before our now regular 2130 bedtime.
